Position: Treasurer

Role:

1. Member of the Board of Directors

2. Chair of the Finance Committee

3. Reports to the Board of Directors and membership on behalf of the Finance Committee

Duties:

1. Works with the Managing Director to ensure appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board on key financial events, trends and concerns [NOTE: This is an overall Board responsibility]

2. Works with the Managing Director to monitor all budget and revenue/expense categories

3. Works with the Managing Director to ensure accurate and effective bookkeeping

4. Presents annual budget to the Board for Directorsʼ approval

5. Ensures development and Board review of financial procedures and systems

6. Chairs the Finance Committee and, in tandem with the Managing Director, prepares agendas for Committee meetings

7. Works with the Managing Director and Finance Committee to select an annual financial statement reviewer, as necessary

8. Recruits and delegates tasks to Committee members as required

Expectations:

1. A superior knowledge of and extensive experience in knowledge of financial accounting practices including that of charity accounting practices

2. Chairs the Finance Committee which meets approximately 4 times a year

3. Submits written reports to the Board of Directors and membership in advance of meetings
