Secret Souls Walk

Posted by on September 27th, 2011 in Latest News

Join your community in celebrating those who came before us as we transform an East side neighbourhood into a portal to the past.

Last year’s partnership with the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret, one of East Vancouver’s most engaging group of community artists, allowed us to bring Parade of Lost Souls back to its roots in the community. This year, they will work with members of the community to design and perform for the Secret Souls Walk portion of the Parade (visit our event volunteers page if you want to get involved).

Starting from our secret starting point in East Van, the walks will lead participants through 5 alleys transformed by the neighbourhood, and local artists, to become a journey back in time, through the past incarnations and hidden stories of Vancouver.  Join us as we journey back in time, through music, performance, installation art, and much more.

Tune in here, late Friday night (midnight Oct. 28th) for the location of this year’s Secret Soul’s Walk.

  1. [...] Secret Souls Walk (Formerly Parade of Lost Souls) – For many years, the Parade of Lost Souls on Commercial Drive was the Vancouver Halloween event: the procession/parade of ghouls and ghosts was the destination for people who took their Halloween seriously (no skimpy cheerleader costumes here–these fiends were dressed to scare). But Public Dreams, the organizers of the Parade of Lost Souls, became overwhelmed by the size of the event and have, starting in 2010, scaled down the procession considerably. For 2011, there will be a Secret Souls Walk (in place of the Parade); the “secret” location will be announced on October 29 at the Public Dreams site. [...]

I am curious what day this parade is on, it says the 29th, but then also says to look at midnight on the 29th for the location…?
    Confusing.
    thanks

    Hi!

The information this page lists the walk as being on Saturday night, 5-9pm. However, it also says the location will be revealed on Saturday night at midnight. Is the information to be revealed Friday midnight or is the walk on Sunday?

    Thanks!

How will we know where to meet?

  5. Jim Eichner says:

Don’t you mean the location will be given out at midnight on Friday the 28th, not Saturday the 29th?

  6. ALAN KEOGH says:

Im interested in joining this tour if there is still space and time to join in the fun

  7. Jim says:

I had a great time at the walk but because my friends were late they missed half of it because they missed a sign directing people to the next part. After my friends left, I wandered around and found the rest of the walk and enjoyed myself immensely. The displays and activities were awesome. Great job by everybody involved.
